Meet Mike Parah, General Manager, PGA Member, and Occano’s Head Golf Instructor.

Mike has over 35 years of experience helping golfers improve their game. He studied under nationally-renowned instructors, Tom Tomasello, coach to several PGA Tour Players; Mike Schroder, Former PGA and Senior Tour Player; Robert Linville, coach to several PGA and LPGA players; and Pat McGowan, former PGA Tour player and 1978 Rookie of the Year.

Is Occano open to the public?

Yes, Occano is a private community currently allowing public play.

How many sets of tees does the course offer?

Occano is pleased to offer seven sets of tees to challenge all skill levels.

Are golfers allowed to use their own golf carts?

No, all golf carts on the course must be rented from the golf shop.

Is there a dress code when playing on the course or using the practice facility?

It is a requirement that each player adhere to the tradition and be respectful of the game in their appearance. Jeans are not allowed and all shirts must have a collar (mocks are acceptable). If you have questions about our dress code, please contact the golf shop at 252-482-5300.

Does Occano host organized golf events?

Yes, Occano offers golf events for members and daily fee players.
